Macarthur Kids Frequently Asked Questions

Q.
What hours are you open?

A.
Centre hours are from:
7am to 6pm (Monday to Friday.)
(Closing for public holidays only)

Q.
What do we need to supply, what do we need to pack?

A.
(0-2 years – Room 1)

Formula / milk (other than cow’s milk) if applicable.
Bottles, clearly labelled (For formula/milk)
Dummies and comfort toy. (Clearly labelled)
A labelled Hat – (a full brimmed wide hat.)
Change of clothes.
Drink bottle, clearly labelled for water only

(2-6 years – Rooms 2-4)

A change of clothing that is weather appropriate (younger children- especially those toilet training will need extra changes, spare shoes/socks and underpants)
A labelled Hat – (a full brimmed wide hat.)
Sheets for stretcher bed (Fitted cot sheet fits perfect, if sleep is required)
A security item for rest time.
Drink Bottle, clearly labelled for water only
Nappies, for children enrolled in rooms 3 and 4 only.

Q.
How do I secure a place for my child?

A.
A $150.00 Booking Fee is payable to lodge your enrolment form. This will go onto your account once care commences and is non- refundable if your child does not commence care. A $200.00 security bond is required and will be held until you exit the service.

2 weeks of fees per child is to be paid before your child commences at the Centre, and fees must remain 2 weeks in advance at all times.

Is school readiness program available for children preparing for primary school?

Our team of qualified educators are responsible for integrating the requirements of the Early Years Learning Framework into our learning contexts to ensure that your child`s learning outcomes are achieved. Some of the daily tasks that they will perform with your child includes:

  • Promote language and cognitive development
  • Plan and teach a play based curriculum
  • Plan incursions and excursions to extend on learning.
  • Observe children to evaluate and record progress
  • Assist with personal hygiene
  • Promote health and safety concepts
  • Encourage empathy, cooperation and respect
  • Encourage and promote positive attitudes towards learning.

Q.
What will my child be learning?

A.
To provide learning programs in an environment designed especially for young children in accordance with The Early Years Learning Framework.

Our curriculum offers rich play based learning experiences creating opportunities for self-discovery, identifying children’s individual needs and interests thriving at their own pace, capability and individuality.

Q.
My child has a food allergy do you cater for this?

A.
Yes, our kitchen can cater for your child`s allergy, we will need as much information as possible about your child`s allergy.

Q.
My child has asthma, how do you manage this?

A.
We would need an Action plan with all current information about your child’s asthma. You will need to supply your child’s medication and complete paperwork so all of our team are aware of your child medical condition.

Do you offer an orientation, for my child?

A.
Yes, we do encourage this!
Leaving your child in a child-care centre can be a highly anxious time for both parents and children. It is important that we get to know and develop a trusting relationship with each other before you leave your child.
When you do an initial tour of the Centre we will discuss some of the benefits, problems and worries you may have of introducing children to a group situation in their pre-school years.
